What is male pelvic pain or dysfunction?
Pelvic pain is a non- malignant pain perceived in structures related to the pelvis and lower abdomen. It may be associated with bowel-, bladder- and sexual symptoms as well as negative cognitive behavioural and emotional consequences, in the absence of infection or other obvious pathology.
It includes incoordination, spasms, muscle hypertonicity, muscle shortness, trigger points, scar adhesions, pelvic floor muscle weakness and issues with bowel and bladder functions.
